Booking

Booking & dates

  • What is Offgrid Internet's Starlink rental service?
We rent pre-configured Starlink kits to anyone who needs reliable internet in remote parts of Western Australia. Travellers, remote workers, mining and construction crews, marine ops, event organisers — short trip or long-term, we have a plan for it.
  • How do I book a kit?
Head to the Contact page and send us your plan, rental period, and pickup date. We reply within an hour during business hours and confirm with payment instructions.
  • Do you ship or mail kits?
No. All kits are collected and returned in person at our Cloverdale depot, near Perth airport. We don't post or courier kits out, and we don't accept mail-back returns. This keeps every kit accounted for, the bond process clean, and lets us do a proper hand-over walk-through on pickup.
  • What is the minimum rental period?
Seven days. Discounts kick in on hires of 20 days or more — mention your dates when you enquire and we'll quote accordingly.
  • How can I contact you with further questions?
Email hello@offgridinternet.com.au or use the form on our contact page. We're based in Cloverdale (5 min from Perth airport), business hours Mon–Sat · 9:00–17:00 AWST.
Pricing

Pricing, bond & payment

  • What are the rental plans available?
    Two plans, same physical kit:

Standard — $15/day for the first 12 days, then $10/day after. Capped at 12.5 GB/week or 50 GB/month. $2/GB above the cap. Good for browsing, VOIP, voice & video calls.

Unlimited — $25/day for the first 14 days, then $20/day after. No data caps. Good for streaming, gaming, heavy remote work.
  • What do I pay upfront?
A 10% deposit on the total hire to secure your dates when you book. A $300 refundable bond is taken at pickup and returned in full when the kit comes back in working order. The remaining hire fee is paid before or at pickup.
  • What payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfer and cash. Payment is due before or at the time of pickup.
Equipment

The kit

  • Can I rent additional equipment, like solar chargers or power banks?
Yes — solar blankets and battery-powered chargers are available for an additional fee, particularly handy on the Unlimited plan for fully off-grid stints. Mention them when you enquire so we can confirm availability.
  • Is the equipment mine to keep?
No. The Starlink equipment remains the property of Offgrid Internet at all times — you're renting it for the specified period.
  • Do you offer a warranty on the equipment?
We don't offer a customer-facing warranty, but every kit is checked before it leaves the depot. Please inspect the gear on pickup and let us know immediately if anything is missing or damaged.
Coverage

Where & how to use it

  • Where can I use the Starlink equipment?
Western Australia only. The dish works in most outdoor and remote locations as long as it has a clear line of sight to the sky.
  • Can I use the equipment for business purposes?
Yes, both personal and business use are fine. For sustained heavy usage — streaming, gaming, large-scale work — we recommend the Unlimited plan to avoid overage charges.
  • What if the connection is slow or not working?
First, check the dish has a clear view of the sky — obstructions are the most common cause. We provide setup tutorials covering antenna positioning. If the issue persists, contact us and we'll help troubleshoot. Note: Starlink network outages themselves are outside our control.
Returns

Returns, late fees & issues

  • What if the equipment is damaged or lost?
An $800 fee applies to cover the Starlink Mini kit replacement, plus reorder time and lost bookings. Please notify us immediately if something goes wrong — small issues are usually cheaper to address early.
  • Can I return the equipment early?
Yes, but we don't pro-rate refunds for early returns — you're charged for the full booked period.
  • What if I return the equipment late?
Late returns are $50 per extra day. If you think you'll be late, contact us as soon as possible and we'll discuss an extension or alternative arrangement.
  • What if I have a problem during my rental period?
Get in touch straight away. We'll troubleshoot, and if it can't be resolved remotely we'll arrange a replacement or further instructions.
